Lasun Yussuff, ‎deputy speaker of the House Representatives, has assured Nigerians that administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would bring the needed change back to the country, despite the myriad of socio-economic challenges facing the country.

Yussuff gave the assurance in Ilobu, Osun State, during his installation ceremony as Ba‎sorun of Obaagun and his wife, Rashidat Yussuff as Yeye Basorun of Obaagun.

In the bid to achieve the feat, the deputy speaker called for patience and perseverance to enable the government focus and do the needful to the people who have been suffering for a very long period in the past.

“We are going to struggle very hard to change Nigeria. We are committed in moving Nigeria forward, therefore we seek cooperation with administration of Buhari‎,” he stated.

Yussuff, who doubles as chairman, Adhoc Committee on Constitution Review, also assured that National Assembly, ‎would synergise with the President in tackling the issue of corruption, and as soon as that was settled, people would begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“On our part as legislators, we will continue to raise bills that would change the face of the nation and also complement executives by providing enabling environment for the masses by empowering them,” he stated.

In his remarks, Oba Adebisi Okunade, who expressed optimism in the country’s resilience, noted that Nigeria as a nation cannot break up due to the existing cordial relationship among various tribes in the country.

The royal father however explained that whoever or group of people hoping or predicting that Nigeria would break up were only deceiving themselves.

Okunade stated that Nigeria as a nation was blessed with enough resources that needed to be annexed and develop the country to the level we want it to be.
