On Thursday night, activities were disrupted for over one hour as a result of power outage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Several efforts were made my the engineers in ground to restore the power as travelers and airlines struggled to process their activities at the airport.
Power was eventually restored after one hour.
Henrietta Yakubu, spokeswoman for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), in a statement said the power interruption at the public concourse of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos caused the disruption.
She said, “Our team of engineers swung in to action and normalcy has been restored at affected areas”.
While assuring airport users of safety and security at airports, she stated that FAAN wishes to apologise to passengers, airlines and the general public for the inconvenience caused by this interruption.
It will be recalled that FAAN had recently attributed the incessant power outage at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) to construction work going on at the new international terminal of the airport.
