The Private Equity & Venture Capital Association of Nigeria (PEVCA) is set to host the PEVCA Policy & Capital Summit 2026, a high-level forum aimed at strengthening collaboration between policymakers, regulators, and investors in Nigeria’s private capital ecosystem.

PEVCA stated that the repositioned summit reflects growing recognition across Nigeria’s financial ecosystem that unlocking long-term investment, particularly domestic institutional capital, requires stronger alignment between regulatory frameworks and capital providers.

Anna Evi-Parker, executive secretary of PEVCA, said the goal is to move discussions within the industry toward practical coordination.

“The objective is to move beyond conversation to coordination. By bringing policy and capital into a more intentional and solutions-oriented setting, we hope to support a stronger and more confident investment environment in Nigeria,” she said.

Yemi Osindero, chairman of PEVCA, noted that sustained engagement between regulators and market participants is critical to strengthening Nigeria’s investment landscape.

“Strengthening Nigeria’s investment environment requires sustained alignment between policy direction and capital mobilisation.

“This summit is designed to create space for constructive dialogue between regulators and market participants to support practical solutions and continued engagement beyond the convening itself,” he said.

PEVCA confirmed that ecosystem partners including African Private Capital Association (AVCA) and the Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp) will participate in the summit.

The association also named Aruwa Capital Management and Stears as lead sponsors supporting the initiative, while BusinessDay Media Limited will serve as the exclusive media partner, providing pre- and post-event coverage as well as a dedicated special report.

The summit is scheduled to take place on March 25, 2026, in Lagos and marks a strategic shift from the association’s traditional annual conference format to a more focused, invitation-led engagement designed to encourage deeper policy dialogue and practical investment solutions.

The event will bring together senior stakeholders from regulatory agencies, pension fund administrators, insurance companies, development finance institutions, and private equity and venture capital fund managers.

Discussions will centre on issues such as regulatory clarity, domestic capital mobilisation, and sustainable market development.

Unlike traditional conferences, the Policy & Capital Summit will prioritise working sessions and closed-door discussions aimed at producing actionable outcomes and strengthening collaboration beyond the event itself.

Participation in the summit will prioritise members of PEVCA, AVCA, and PenOp, alongside invited stakeholders. A limited number of additional participants will be admitted through an expression-of-interest process.

PEVCA stated that the summit forms part of its broader efforts to deepen domestic capital participation and strengthen collaboration between regulators and investors in Nigeria’s private capital market.
