Kinova Films, a Lagos-based creative studio, has joined FasterCapital’s equitypilot programme as part of efforts to scale its animation ambitions and build globally competitive African intellectual property.
The company is seeking to raise $250,000 in seed funding to support studio development and the production of its flagship animated project, ‘The Masquerade Code’, according to a report by The Nollywood Reporter.
Kinova Films, which focuses on film, animation, and sound storytelling, said the partnership will provide access to investors, mentorship, and strategic support needed to position the studio for long-term growth.
Davison Onyemali, founder and creative director of Kinova Films, described the move as a critical step in strengthening the company’s creative and commercial capabilities, noting that the program would help the studio remain true to its creative identity while preparing it for scale.
FasterCapital’s equity pilot programme, based in Dubai, is designed to support early-stage startups with investor readiness, access to funding, and business development support across industries, including media and technology.
Kinova’s upcoming project, ‘The Masquerade Code’, is an animated story that blends African spirituality, comedy, and contemporary urban life, which reflects a growing push among African studios to develop culturally rooted content for global audiences.
