Afrinvest improves convenience in equity trading with new mobile app

Afrinvest Securities Limited, is bring greater transparency, immediacy and convenience to equity trading with the introduction an innovative mobile application, offering client’s access to their brokerage accounts and portfolio data.

The latest development is coming on the heels of the launch of the firm’s online trading portal – Afrinvestor.com – in September 2014. At the launch of Afrinvestor.com, Charles Egbunonwo, managing director of the company, had said, “Afrinvest has always placed a premium on the use of technology as a business enabler, and the introduction of Afrinvestor.com is to empower clients to take more control of their investments, supported by sound investment advice and professional guidance.”

With the rise in smartphones ownership, and the availability of broadband access, Egbunonwo pointed out that it was necessary to create the app version of the online trading platform.

“Business professionals take their phones with them everywhere. We have been working with our technology partners to make the solution available to our clients. Both the iOS and andriod version are up and running,” he added.

The managing director also stated, “With Afrinvestor.com, our clients and investors will not only be able to initiate and execute trades online; they can also view (and edit) their account information and portfolio performance, access a wealth of in-depth equity research as well as market data and intelligence on companies, key sectors and the broader Nigerian economy, all from the comfort of their homes or offices or on the go.”

On how the mobile applications works, Oladipo James, head, corporate communications at Afrinvest, said, “In order to be able to use the applications you must first register as a user of our online trading portal – Afrinvestor.com.”

“Existing clients of Afrinvest Securities Limited can request for their login credentials by sending an email to us at [email protected] while new clients need only complete our simple online account opening form and upload required documents at www.afrinvestor.com and begin trading; no minimum account opening balance required.”
