The 4th edition of the Ake Arts and Book Festival has been action packed even before the festival started officially. There was fun with the screening of Marguerite Abouet’s Aya de Yop City and a musical concert featuring Brymo, Falana, and Adunni & the Nefretiti. The panel discussions have engendered riveting dialogues and stoked the fire for further conversations. Authors have shared themselves and their characters on the stage reading and discussing some of the best written contemporary African novels. A door for meditation and reflection about the victims of dictatorial regimes was opened with the screening of Clement Abaifouta’s documentary, A Chadian Tragedy.
