The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Poland and Portugal in international friendlies this June, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed.
In a statement released in Abuja, NFF Director of Communications Ademola Olajire described the fixtures as “crucial tests” designed to help Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle evaluate the squad against elite European opposition.
“These fixtures are very important for us as a team seeking to build momentum and cohesion ahead of major competitions,” Olajire said.

He added that the matches would provide an opportunity for the technical crew to assess the squad against top European opposition, while also testing new players and tactical approaches.
“Playing against Poland and Portugal offers us the chance to measure our strength against quality sides and make necessary adjustments,” he noted.
The June friendlies will further serve as preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Nigeria head into the friendlies on the back of encouraging results, including a win over World Cup-bound Iran and a draw against Jordan in Antalya, Turkey.
According to NFF’s FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport, the clash against Poland will take place at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on June 3, while the game against Portugal is scheduled for June 10, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
Olajire expressed confidence that the high-profile friendlies would enhance the team’s readiness.
“We are confident that these matches will sharpen the team and position us strongly for the challenges ahead,” he said.
The Super Eagles are also set to feature in the Unity Cup in London from May 26 to May 30, where they will defend their title.
