Achraf Hakimi has expressed calm after being referred to trial over a rape allegation, insisting the claim against him is “false” and that he trusts the legal process.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Liverpool, the Morocco international addressed the matter publicly for the first time since the court decision.

“I know this accusation is false; I am calm. I leave this to my lawyers and the justice system,” Hakimi said.
The defender has been ordered to stand trial over an alleged incident involving a 24-year-old woman, said to have taken place at his home near Paris in February 2023.
The case was initially reported at a police station in the Val-de-Marne area, where the woman alleged rape, although no formal complaint was filed at that stage. A preliminary investigation was subsequently launched.
Hakimi was placed under formal investigation shortly after the report and has consistently denied all allegations, maintaining his innocence while his legal team prepares for trial.
The case is set to be heard by a departmental criminal court in Hauts-de-Seine, although no date has yet been fixed.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Hakimi continues his club duties with PSG as the case progresses through the French judicial system.
