Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has been handed a three-month suspension by Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars SC for allegations of match fixing.

The club confirmed the decision in a statement issued on Friday, noting that the suspension was approved by its Disciplinary Committee after preliminary internal findings raised concerns over possible misconduct.

According to the statement, the measure was taken to allow for a thorough investigation without internal or external interference.

While the allegations concern suspected match-fixing, the club clarified that no formal charges have been filed at this stage.

Singida Black Stars stressed that Obasogie remains under investigation and will be given full opportunity to respond to the claims in line with the club’s disciplinary procedures.

The suspension comes just days after the goalkeeper featured in a 1–1 league draw against Namungo FC, where he was included in the matchday squad.

Obasogie joined the Tanzanian side in 2025 and has been a regular member of the first team. He is also a Super Eagles international and was part of Nigeria’s squad that secured a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The development follows previous match-fixing allegations involving another Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, at Udinese Calcio.
