Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Victor Osimhen ahead of a potential big-money summer move, with sporting director Andrea Berta attending the Istanbul derby between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe to scout the Nigerian striker, according to reports.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Berta focused primarily on Osimhen during the clash at Rams Park, as Arsenal continue their push to secure a prolific striker ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Berta was reportedly in attendance as Galatasaray recorded a 3–0 victory over Fenerbahçe, with Osimhen marking his return from injury with a goal.

While several players were under observation, the Nigerian forward, who completed a permanent €75 million move from Napoli, is understood to be the Gunners’ primary target for the summer window.

The interest reflects Arsenal’s ongoing recruitment strategy, having prioritised a top striker in successive transfer windows. Unlike previous summers, Osimhen’s permanent status at Galatasaray simplifies the structure of any potential deal.

However, the financial commitment remains substantial. Galatasaray are expected to demand a fee in the region of £100 million, while Osimhen’s reported €21 million annual salary would require Arsenal to significantly adjust their wage structure, potentially offering around £300,000 per week.

Any transfer would involve direct negotiations with the Turkish champions, who are under no pressure to sell their leading forward. At this stage, there has been no official approach.

Overall, a move for Osimhen could represent a total financial commitment of up to £200 million over five years, including wages and associated costs.

Despite the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres last summer, Osimhen remains a key attacking target. The Nigerian striker has maintained his prolific form this season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.
