In a staggering Economic situation like what what we have in Nigeria, i wonder how many average Nigerians who rely on only one source of income comfortably, to make ends meet. I warn people who care to listen to me when we gist not to postpone any financial purchase or project they have desire for with the hope that probably, the next years coming , the prices will come down. In Nigeria, every new year comes with higher prices of goods and services. Nothing comes down in the area of financial spending in this country rather it is the opposite. If you disagree with me, take time out and do a price survey of ceartain popular items most people use and consume as this year is grinding to an end. Keep your record so you use it to compare the survey you will do by next year on similar items. Infact if you shop and go to the local markets regularly, you will not even have to carry out any survey. All you need is to be vigilant and observe the prices of stuff you buy.
Abroad over the years, the MLM business is very popular and most people who are self employed use it as a full time business. Some also use it to complement their income.
I have come to discover that the multi level marketing business network is still not to popular in Nigeria though couple of companies started it years back here. The Nigerians who are into it simply use it as a side runs to make etxra money. On the other hand, most Nigerians still do not really comprehend how to do this kind of business. I have been studying the marketing and sales terrain of some of the companies in Nigeria and i will not blame Nigerians so much if they find the style of MLM marketing somehow complicating and tedious. Again, given the style of these business and the fact that Nigerians want quick money when they are doing business, the love for this business is still missing among us here.
Now are the marketing and payment styles of MLM tedious and complicating in the real sense or just that we do not have patience to study a business plan? I will have to be brutally honest here to be able to answer this question to open the sleepy eyes of the two parties involved in this business(Nigerians and the MLM Companies). It is vital to understand that almost all the MLM companies in Nigeria are foriegn based and not created by Nigerians. These companies make the mistake of refusing to re -structure their marketing and payment plans in ways that the Nigerians who are joining them will not have to go through difficult money transfer transaction with banks and other financial establishments either to buy their products from abroad or get paid. Another stumbling block is also the refusal of these companies to change their referrals number levels where someone will not have to wait for years in the process of signing new affilliates before making good money. This particular aspect cripples the whole sales and marketing sytstem because the average Nigerian needs his/her money instant as he/she works. Why must the company style states that one must sign on up to thousands of new affiliates within a small short of time before even getting to a recognizable position? It does not make sense to me honestly. Most Nigerians see this as a rip off by the companies and a waste of their working time. Again if you go to their seminars where they teach new affiliates how to do their business, the whole teaching process gets even more confused as they teach people how to sell and market. (Now before i go on, i would sincerely like to hear from companies into this business and Nigerians as well on how they feel about this part of mlm business…hit me up at twitter-@jacquiworld).
This selling style gets more messier with Nigerians who do the online part of this business without having any of the companies representatives any where in Nigeria to talk to. This part is the one i can not even explain myself because some of these online companies will manipualte you to sell and advertise for them online and when it comes to getting paid, knowing how difficult online transfer is in Nigeria, they will bring up complicated, confused and at times not workable means of payment. So i would like to advise Nigerians who are looking for such online business to thread carefully and study their payment style before signing up for such online business. It is very sad how some foriegners use and defraud Nigerians and still turn back to complain how corrupt Nigerians are. Believe me, when it comes to fraud, the ‘’oyibo- ‘’obroni’’ people are clean expert on this. Pretty clean!! If you are a Nigerian and wondering what ‘’obroni’’ means….it is what Ghana people call the whites or anyone who looks like a white. Mind you this article is being published also in Ghana. I am not also saying that the foriegn MLM companies in Nigeria are frauds but on the contraary trying to enlighten them how they make their business easy and more comprehensive for Nigerians so they can make more profits for their investments in my country. Having said this, i urge the MLM business owners in Nigeria to review their marketing styles and create a style that suits Nigeria style of living and monetary systems.
Coming to the Nigerians who are interested to do this business, i must tell you it is something you can actually use to complement your income and live well if you undertsand clearly how the business works and equip yourself very well. Most Nigerians harldy have patience in running and growing business forgetting that certain things don’t work that way. Take time to study the products of the company and understand how they can benefit the Nigerian society. This will help you to be effiecient when you talk to people about the products you are selling. Most of you into this business, do not even know what the products you sell do and how they function so how do you convinve people to buy them? Also be a good ambassador or emblem of the products you sell. Do not be selling skincare products like perfumes and when you approach people, you reek of stale sweat and body ordor. No one will listen not to talk of buying your products.
All in all, the MLM business could help you boost your income if you understand how they work and make extra efforts . Learn more on how to make money from MLM business and effective ways to sell by joining the discussion on Twitter-@jacquiworld.
