President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at Eagle Square, the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention in Abuja.

He arrived in company of Vice President Kashim Shettima and other top government officials.

Tinubu arrived at the venue at about 8:41pm, signalling the formal commencement of proceedings for the convention.

BusinessDay reports that APC governors; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, among other top party leaders are in attendance.

The convention, the party’s highest decision-making organ, is expected to ratify key resolutions and decisions reached by the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC).

The gathering is also expected to produce new national officers of the party who would be in charge of the day-to-day running of its affairs.
