The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused opposition figures of deliberately spreading misleading information about the achievements of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement released on Saturday in Sokoto, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the APC National Chairman, Malam Yusuf Abubakar Dingyadi, said certain individuals and groups particularly from opposition parties were using social media platforms to distort the administration’s record.

Dingyadi alleged that such actions were motivated by personal and political interests rather than a genuine commitment to national unity and development.

He criticised what he described as the use of misinformation, baseless claims, and propaganda aimed at undermining the government, especially in northern Nigeria.

According to him, Nigerians should instead recognise what he termed progress made in security, ongoing infrastructure projects, and reforms across key sectors under the Tinubu administration.

“The use of vulgar language, excessive criticism, and the spread of falsehoods is not expected from responsible citizens, particularly when compared to the situation before this administration came into office,” he said.

Dingyadi added that the party’s National Working Committee, under the leadership of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, remains focused on advancing economic reforms, strengthening security, and improving agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare.

He reiterated that the APC-led government would continue to implement policies aimed at enhancing the living standards of Nigerians.

The party also urged the public to be cautious of what it described as misleading narratives by opposition elements seeking political advantage.
