Vicky Haastrup, chief executive officer of ENL Consortium Limited and chairperson of the Seaport Terminal Operators of Nigeria (STOAN), was awarded Vanguard Woman Entrepreneur of the Year for 2025 in Lagos on Friday during the 14th Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards for her contributions to Nigeria’s maritime industry.
As chief executive of ENL Consortium, operators of Terminals C and D at the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa, Haastrup oversees operational growth and efficiency improvements, contributing meaningfully to trade facilitation and port development in the country.
The award was formally conferred on her by Segun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State.
Haastrup is recognised for her advocacy for gender inclusion within a traditionally male-dominated industry, consistently championing opportunities for women and nurturing the next generation through mentorship and institutional support across several women-focused organisations.
“To women everywhere, I say believe in your abilities, remain steadfast in the pursuit of your aspirations, and never allow limitations, real or perceived, to define your path,” Haastrup said during her acceptance speech. “Success is not determined by gender, but by courage, resilience and a commitment to excellence. With determination and focus, there are no boundaries to what can be achieved.”
Haastrup was recognised by BusinessDay on International Women’s Day 2025 as one of the 10 women breaking barriers in Nigeria’s male-dominated maritime sector.
