…Reaffirms commitment to welfare
The Management of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has rolled out a palliative initiative to cushion the effects of the recent hike in fuel prices on staff of the institution.
BusinessDay reports that the increased in fuel prices has posed significant challenges to the welfare and daily living conditions of staff members.
But in a proactive response, the University Management under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, approved the disbursement of palliative support, in line with her long-standing commitment to prioritizing staff welfare.
Adejuyigbe, who described the intervention as both timely and necessary said; “this palliative is a clear testament to my unwavering commitment to the welfare of our staff. You are the golden geese that lay the eggs, and it is only right that we take good care of you so you can continue to give your best.
“We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to make this university the first choice in medical science education, as well as a workplace of pride for all employees.”
She further reassured staff of the administration’s dedication to building a supportive and enabling work environment.
Recall that the university had earlier, in October 2025, commenced the payment of the new minimum wage to its workforce, further underscoring its commitment to staff welfare.
