Tinubu meets Idris Itno, Chadian leader

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met President Idris Derby Itno of Republic of Chad, at the presidential Villa, Abuja

Although details of the meeting which is currently ongoing are not available immediately, BusinessDay gathered that the visit is aimed at further strengthening diplomatic relationships between Nigeria and Chad.

Chad and Nigeria had been at the forefront at the battle to end insecurity in the West Africa subregion, caused by the economic situation at Lake Chad.

Both countries who are members of the Chad basin commission are also working to end the humanitarian crisis caused by the siltation of lake Chad where over 40 million people have been displaced.
