Tight security as Tinubu visits Plateau Thursday after Jos Palm Sunday massacre

Heavy security presence has been deployed across Jos, Plateau State capital  as Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives the state on Thursday to condole with residents following the recent Palm Sunday night massacre in Jos North Local Government Area, which left 28 people dead.

BusinessDay reports that security operatives were stationed at strategic locations, including Mararaba Jama’a roundabout—the main entrance into Jos from Bukuru—as well as key routes leading to government facilities and major junctions across the city.

Other heavily secured areas include Zaramanda roundabout, Hill Station roundabout, and several adjoining intersections within the Jos metropolis, as authorities intensified efforts to ensure safety during the presidential visit.

The increased security comes amid heightened tension in the state following the deadly attack, which has raised fresh concerns over the safety of residents and the recurrence of violence in the area.
