President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is billed to inaugurate some critical projects in Lagos, as part of his two-day visit to the state, Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, confirmed on Monday.

The projects, according to Omotoso, who addressed the media alongside some members of the state executive council, in Ikeja, include 5.04km Mende-Opebi Link Bridge, in Ikeja; Multi-Agency Office Complex, Alausa, Ikeja; Agro-Produce Hub, Abijo, near Epe; Tolu Schools Complex, in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, as well as the state Geographical Information Centre.

While, the Mende-Opeb Link Bridge, the Geographical Information Centre, and the Multi-Agency Office Complex are to be commissioned on Wednesday, April 8, the Tolu Schools Complex will be inaugurated on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

The Opebi–Mende Link Bridge is a strategic infrastructure intended to transform movement and connect communities in Lagos, especially around Ikeja, the state capital.

By linking Opebi in Ikeja to Mende in Maryland, the bridge, whose construction was flagged off in 2022 by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration, creates a new route that reduces traffic around Allen, Mobolaji Bank Anthony,
and Ikorodu Road. This translates to shorter travel times, less stress, and a smoother commute for Lagosians who grapple daily with gridlock  menace in Nigeria’s most congested city.

The Multi-Agency Office Complex brings many agencies of the state government together, creating a harmonious working relationship for effective service delivery to the public.

The project, according to Omotoso, represents an investment not only in systems, but in the people who operate those systems. Complex sits on 2.01 hectares of land, with four blocks – A, B, C, and D, with a pent house for meetings and conferences, as well as a car park to accommodate 300 vehicles.

Also, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, comprises 36 public schools – 31 secondary and five primary schools situated in the densely populated Ajegunle in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, on an estimated 11.73 hectares of land. It offers the much-needed relief for pupils, students and teachers, as it provides a conducive learning environment with necessary modern facilities.

Speaking on the Mid-level Agro-Produce Hub, Abijo, Ibeju Lekki, Lekki-Epe Expressway, also to be commissioned,
Bisola Olusanya, the Commissioner for Agriculture, said it was part of efforts by the Sanwo-Olu administration to boost food supply in Lagos, and check inflation, especially food prices-related.

“These projects have been carefully conceived and executed to address the growing needs of our population, ease mobility, stimulate economic activities, and enhance social welfare” Omotoso added.
