The Kwara State Government has trained no fewer than 50 teachers in digital entrepreneurship, STEAM, and artificial intelligence to strengthen curriculum delivery and equip students with globally relevant skills for emerging digital learning challenges.
The four-day programme, held recently in collaboration with Digital Innovation Schools Nigeria and the Tech2Grassroots Africa Pilot Programme, targeted public and private school teachers drawn from various parts of the State.
Speaking at the training session held at the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development’s Educational Resource Centre (ERC), Tanke, Ilorin, Lawal Olohungbebe, the State Commissioner for Education, said the initiative would empower teachers with the requisite skills to effectively deliver the entrepreneurship curriculum and seamlessly navigate evolving global education demands through technology integration.
Olohungbebe, who was represented by Olanrewaju Rebecca Bake, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, noted that the training would boost teachers’ morale and improve overall learning outcomes across public and private schools in the state.
In his remarks, Ayobami Oludele, the Chief Executive Officer of KwaraTech Academy, commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his sustained education reforms, urging participants to maximise the opportunity to acquire skills that would drive societal development and impact.
Participants were trained on the practical application of digital tools, entrepreneurship concepts, and STEAM methodologies to enhance teaching innovation and improve students’ access to modern, technology-driven learning resources in classrooms.
