The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, will deliver a keynote address at a high-level stakeholders’ policy dialogue focused on critical issues shaping Nigeria’s electoral process. The event, organised by Abuja-based law firm Law Corridor, is scheduled for April 29, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel. It comes as political and institutional actors begin early engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the organisers, the dialogue will convene leaders of political parties, civil society organisations, as well as local and international election observers to deliberate on reforms needed to strengthen electoral credibility.

Notable speakers expected at the forum include Muyiwa Atoyebi, Managing Partner of Omaplex Law Firm; Seun Okinbaloye; Bala Maiyaki; Ahmed Raji; Patrick Ikwueto; Alhassan Umar; as well as Dantele Yusuf and Bukola Idowu, among others.

The organisers said the policy dialogue aims to bring together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to address pressing challenges within Nigeria’s electoral system, with a view to improving transparency and integrity.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Managing Partner of Law Corridor, Henry Kelechukwu Eni-Otu, noted that the timing of the dialogue makes it particularly critical.

“This year’s Policy Dialogue is so critical considering its proximity to the 2027 general elections. For this reason, the need to address certain issues regarding Nigeria’s electoral process becomes germane,” he said.

He added that sustained engagement among stakeholders would help chart a path toward strengthening the credibility of elections in the country.

The organisers also disclosed that a policy brief containing recommendations and a reform roadmap will be produced after the dialogue and submitted to relevant government ministries and agencies.

At the firm’s 2025 edition of the dialogue, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, presided over discussions on regulatory issues in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
