Efforts to enhance education through technology are gaining momentum as individuals and organisations step in to support digital learning in schools.
At Jinadu Anglican Primary School, this commitment is taking shape through targeted interventions that equip pupils and teachers with modern tools and skills.
The initiative reflects a broader push to bridge the digital divide and prepare young learners for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world.
Students of Jinadu Anglican Primary School were filled with excitement and gratitude on Monday, March 30, as Theophilus Okolo, a 17-year-old student, paid a special visit that would transform their learning experience.
Theophilus, driven by a passion for education and technology, organised a donation of laptops to the school after reaching out to friends and local corporations in Lagos.
Through a series of emails and proposals, he successfully secured support from organisations willing to contribute devices for the students.
On Monday, he arrived at Jinadu Anglican Primary School with a collection of Chromebooks, complementing and improving the school’s outdated computer systems.
Teachers who spoke about the new development emphasised that the school’s previous equipment had become unreliable, limiting students’ exposure to modern digital tools.
Beyond the donation, Theophilus took time to engage directly with the pupils. He conducted hands-on sessions, showing them how to operate the new devices and introducing them to basic machine fundamentals. From navigating the interface to understanding simple computing concepts, the students were given a foundation they could build on.
Salami, the school’s manager, praised the initiative and commended Theophilus for his dedication. She highlighted that he had been supporting, teaching, and engaging with the children at Obalende Primary School since 2024, when he was just 15 years old.
“We are proud of his consistency and commitment to helping these students grow,” she said as he visited Jinadu Anglican School.
Theophilus also used the opportunity to encourage other young people to take initiative in their communities, emphasizing that age should not be a barrier to making a difference.
