President Bola Tinubu on Thursday in Jos, Plateau State, promised succour for families of the recent killings at Rukuba town, promising to immediately install over 5000 digital cameras to monitor the activities of criminals in the city.
Tinubu stated this at an interactive session with a cross section of community leaders, as part of his visit to commiserate with victims of the Palm Sunday attacks in the city
Th President promised to expand the committee set up to manage the crisis, to include Governor Caled Muftwang, Yilwatda Nentawe, the All Progressive Congress APC, National Chairman, as well as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs
Th President directed the Humanitarian Affairs Minister to submit statistics of those affected as soon as he gets back to Abuja
” Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, come see me. Take numeric analysis of the victims, You are a data person. Let’s see what we can do. For their losses
Th President who noted that no amount can compensate for their loses, added that ” But whatever we do to give them minimum comfort. We will.
The President, while turning to Bosun Tijjani, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, announced that he was present ” to give you assurance. We are going to install immediately, a network of camera. That will help the law enforcement agencies, to identify the troublemakers instantly.

The President regretted that his time in Jos was short because of the absence light at the airport
” No amount of money can pay you. Yes, as government we will try our best to comfort you, to work with you. The best solution is for jos to be just.The world that people like us grew up to know.
He charged Governor to work to ensure peac in the state, adding that” you and I were elected on the promise of peace and prosperity. Not to comfort and create widows and widowers.
We are to bring prosperity as a promise. To bring inclusiveness as a government, share the hope and aspiration of everyone and lead our youths.
” I don’t want to be here commiserating and consoling. I want to be here to establish peace.
He recalled that Jos had hitherto been a peaceful place, citing the examples of Yahaya Kwande, amongst “Leaders who have received us, who have accommodated us politically.
” I brought the symbol of this cap to break the shackle of violence, the shackle of ignorance, shackle of poverty, shackle of hopelessness. We must break it together.”
