The air component of Operation Hadin Kai has neutralised several terrorists following a precision air strike on a suspected insurgent enclave in the Yuwe axis of the Sambisa Forest.

According to military sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the operation was carried out on Sunday at approximately 5:45 p.m. in Nigeria’s North-East theatre of operations.

The sources disclosed that the strike was intelligence-driven, relying on surveillance that confirmed the presence of terrorist elements in the area.

The insurgents were said to have established fortified positions, including suspected bunkers and logistics hubs.

“Upon arrival over the target location in the Sambisa Forest axis, the air crew identified designated targets and engaged them with precision munitions,” the source stated.

Security officials further indicated that the bombardment destroyed multiple structures used by the group, including shelters and operational hideouts.

Several fighters were also said to have been killed during the strike, although exact casualty figures were not disclosed.

The latest offensive forms part of an ongoing campaign combining air and ground operations aimed at weakening insurgent capacity, cutting off supply routes, and restricting their movement across the region, particularly in Borno State and surrounding areas in the Lake Chad basin.

Military authorities reaffirmed that sustained, intelligence-led operations would continue as part of efforts to dismantle remaining terrorist enclaves and restore stability in affected communities.

They added that coordinated actions between air assets and ground troops are expected to intensify pressure on insurgent groups in the coming weeks.
