The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Christians across the country in commemoration of the 2026 Easter festival.
The monarch described the season as a profound reminder of the timeless virtues of sacrifice, compassion, forgiveness, and hope, as exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
This is contained in a goodwill message issued by Abdulazeez Arowona, his press secretary, stressing that the Easter festival season remains indispensable to building a peaceful, tolerant, and progressive society.
He further urged Christians to use the solemn period for deep reflection and spiritual renewal, encouraging all citizens to embrace the spirit of love and selflessness that Easter represents.
Sulu-Gambari also emphasised that the lessons of Easter provide a moral compass for unity, resilience, and collective responsibility, even as he reaffirmed the long-standing tradition of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence within the Ilorin Emirate, describing it as a model worthy of emulation.
He further called on people of all faiths to continue fostering mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation in the interest of community development and national stability.
The Emir therefore, prayed that the joy and blessings of Easter would usher renewed peace, and prosperity for the state and nation at large.
