Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1) has urged Nigerians to co-exist peaceful, accommodate each other and imbibe religious tolerance as the world celebrate Easter.

In his Easter message contained in a press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga at the Olubadan palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, the monarch said, “we should see ourselves as our brothers and sisters’ keepers,” as he rejoiced with Christians all over the world.

“Be like Christ in your words and deeds as seen in the appearance of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ in the city of Antioch,” the paramount ruler admonished Christians.

“I charge the followers of Christ to desist from being commercial or ceremonial worshippers but be practical and spiritual in your activities,” the monarch further stressed.

The Imperial Majesty urged the generality of the people all over the world not to forget the lessons from Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday which included sacrifice, suffering, resurrection and hope of eternal life after death, adding that as Jesus is the prince of peace, we should learn to be peaceful co-existed, accommodating, allowing religious tolerance and see ourselves as our brothers and sisters keepers.

The Easter seasons should not be seen for merriment alone but also to abide with the reasons of Easter celebrations.

While Good Friday celebration signifies the suffering, trial, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, Easter Sunday marks His resurrection while Easter Monday symbolises appearance of Jesus after resurrection and His ascension to heaven.
