Students of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State have been charged to take full responsibility for their studies, remain focused, disciplined, and be committed to their academic pursuit.

Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, rector of the institution, gave the charge while commending the students and other stakeholders for their unalloyed contributions and commitment towards the successful matriculation ceremony where over 13,000 students were admitted into various disciplines in the institution.

She also urged all stakeholders of the institution to begin preparations with even greater dedication and foresight for the forthcoming 22nd Convocation of the institution.

The Rector also said that if the students were focused and committed to their studies, that it would help them to contribute to the nation building.

She gave the advice recently in the institution as part of her commendation advice to the students and other stakeholders for their commitment to the successful hosting of the 48th matriculation ceremony of the institution.

She said that the “institution acknowledges the principal officers and the planning committee for their exceptional leadership, meticulous planning, and seamless execution of the ceremony. Your diligence ensured that every aspect of the event, from logistics, academic procession, to media coverage, was conducted with precision, reflecting the high standards and organisational excellence of the Polytechnic.

“The entire staff are highly commended for their unwavering support, professionalism, and active participation, which collectively made the ceremony a landmark event.

“The students, our primary stakeholders, are recognised for embracing the occasion and making it their own, demonstrating pride, discipline, and a commitment to the values of Federal Polytechnic Nekede.

“The parents and guardians are sincerely appreciated for gracing the occasion, actively engaging in the proceedings, and reinforcing the critical role of families in the academic and moral development of students.”

The Rector noted that their presence affirmed the relevance and reputation of Federal Polytechnic Nekede as a centre of academic excellence and community engagement.
