Chimaobi Stanley Anyanwu, founder of Owllup and Nigerian Tech and Innovation Awards (NTIA), has emerged as a key figure in nurturing Nigeria’s next generation of digital innovators. Now based in Manchester, UK, Anyanwu continues to impact Nigeria’s technology landscape by supporting youth, underrepresented groups, and early-stage tech talent.

Owllup, launched in 2023, has created a community platform connecting thousands of students, young creatives, and aspiring tech professionals. The platform provides mentorship, skill-building challenges, and peer-to-peer learning opportunities, helping young people develop digital skills and participate in the growing technology sector.

Beyond Owllup, Anyanwu founded NTIA in 2023, a national initiative that recognizes emerging tech talent, with a particular focus on women and underrepresented groups. NTIA provides awards, masterclasses, and structured programs, giving visibility and support to early-stage innovators. Participation and engagement have grown yearly, reflecting its influence on the Nigerian tech ecosystem.

Anyanwu has also contributed directly through mentorship at major events, including the 2025 TDI Tech Summit & Hackathon. Participants received guidance, support, and access to prizes that enabled further development of their digital and professional skills. These programs help address talent gaps and nurture homegrown technology expertise.

Reflecting on his work, Anyanwu said: “I have focused on creating opportunities where young innovators can learn, collaborate, and contribute to Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.”

BusinessDay observes that Anyanwu’s initiatives go beyond individual projects, combining mentorship, community programs, and ecosystem leadership to foster sustainable growth in Nigeria’s digital technology sector. Through Owllup and NTIA, he is helping build pathways for aspiring tech talent and supporting innovation at scale across the country.
