The duo of Standard Alliance Capital and Asset Management Limited and CSL Stockbrokers Limited led other stockbroking firms in the volume equities they traded last month at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
The broker performance report of the NSE in the review month of April shows that Standard Alliance Capital and Asset Management Limited accounted for 2,348,476,031 units, representing 10.95 percent of the total equities traded, while CSL Stockbrokers Limited accounted for 2,347,396,467 units, representing 10.95 percent.
Only 10 stockbroking firms accounted for 11,998,137,601 units, which represents 55.95 percent of the total volume of equities exchanged at the Nigerian bourse last month.
Also, Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited occupied the third place in the basket of top 10 stockbroking firms after trading 1,977,847,206 units, which represents 9.22 percent of the total volume of equities traded at the Nigerian bourse.
Others are: Rencap Securities (Nig.) Limited, which accounted for 1,161,698,607 units or 5.42 percent; FBN Securities Limited (991,370,719 units), representing 4.62 percent, and Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited-MM (853,963,154 units), representing 3.98 percent. Also, CardinalStone Securities Limited traded 774,445,023 units, which represents 3.61 percent of the total volume of deals at the NSE last month; EFCP Limited (652,422,157 units) or 3.04 percent; ARM Securities Limited (471,735,250 units) or 2.20 percent, and Cordros Capital Limited (418,782,987 units) or 1.95 percent. In terms of value of equities traded, CSL Stockbrokers led the pack of 10 top stockbroking firms after accounting for equities deals valued at N29.271 billion, representing 14.09 percent of the total value of equities traded on the floors of the NSE last month. Rencap Securities (Nig.) Limited was ranked second after it accounted for deals valued at N28.521 billion or 13.73 percent, while equities deals by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited in April was put at N22.547 billion or 10.85 percent of the total value of stocks traded last month.
Others top 10 stockbroking firms and the value of their deals are: EFCP Limited (N10.3bn) or 4.96 percent; FBN Securities Limited (N10.274bn) or 4.94 percent; Chapel Hill Denham Securities Limited (N7.833bn) or 3.77 percent; CardinalStone Securities Limited (N7.549bn) or 3.63 percent; ARM Securities Limited (N4.340bn) or 2.09 percent; Partnership Securities Limited (N4bn) or 1.93 percent, and Cordros Capital Limited (N3.969bn) or 1.91 percent.
