LAGOS, NIGERIA, March 2026. The Moment Awards, hosted by Mainstack as part of a 3-day creator conference, has recorded more than 150,000 public votes, 10,000 within its first 24 hours, a significant milestone for a first-year awards show.

The response validates what the Moment Awards was built on: the belief that Africa’s creator economy deserves a recognition programme of the highest calibre, one that carries genuine excellence and cultural relevance to the African continent.

How We Got Here: The Process

Sponsored by industry giants deeply invested in the creator economy, including Grey (Platinum Partner), and Busha (Gold Partner) the Moment Awards was designed from the ground up with integrity at its core.

A dedicated Selection Committee, comprising Moment Awards team, independent industry advisors, and creator economy experts, conducted rigorous research-driven curation of Africa’s creator landscape to identify the most deserving nominees across 16 different categories, including The Pioneer Award, Agency/Collective of the Year Award, and Rising Creator of the Year.

Nominees were evaluated against four non-negotiable standards:

Excellence: High standards of content quality, creativity, and originality.

Impact: Real-world influence, meaningful audience engagement, and cultural relevance.

Innovation: Fresh approaches to content formats, platform use, and business models.

Consistency: A proven track record of sustained presence and contribution.
