In a statement to the media, the firm noted that the PCS and solar systems, now operational across five major locations, serve as control hubs for the metering units, housing sensitive supervisory systems and ensuring uninterrupted operations powered by renewable energy.
The facilities were delivered at Agbada-1; Nkpoku for the Agbada-2 and Umuechem delivery lines; Imo River-2 (Nkali); Obigbo North Leg-1 (Elelenwo Main); and Obigbo North Leg-2 (Ogale).
Designed to maintain stable internal temperatures in harsh field environments, the PCS units provide thermal protection for critical equipment without reliance on active cooling systems.
Horizon Shores further pointed out the installation has improved the reliability of custody transfer measurements at the sites, supporting more accurate production records and reducing operational losses.
“With the systems fully deployed, Heirs Energies is achieving more stable and accurate metering performance at all points,” the company noted.
The firm also stressed that the enhanced precision has resulted in daily cost savings for the operator through improved operational efficiency.
Passive cooling works by taking advantage of the large temperature fluctuations between day and night. Water as a storage medium absorbs the cold of the night, which is used to cool the interior during the day.
The company reveals that through natural convection (based on the physical principle of the thermosiphon) the water flows through the system and its heat exchangers.
“The technology reduces dependence on conventional electrical cooling and is well-suited for remote installations where power infrastructure is limited”, the statement stressed.
Horizon Shores also stated that the project was executed with a Goal Zero health, safety and environment (HSE) record, noting that installation, testing and commissioning were completed with no injuries, incidents or lost-time cases.
All work, the company added, complied fully with regulatory and client-specific safety requirements.
