Nigeria’s homegrown web hosting industry is experiencing a transformative moment as HoganHost accelerates its Pan-African expansion with the acquisition of ZuumHost, a major Nigerian hosting provider and accredited domain registrar.
The acquisition marks a strategic milestone for HoganHost as it strengthens its domestic leadership while laying the groundwork for broader continental growth. Observers say the move positions HoganHost as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing indigenous digital infrastructure companies.
As part of the new leadership structure, Joseph Effiok Hogan, CEO of HoganHost, will take on the role of Chairman and CEO of ZuumHost, guiding the integration process and charting the company’s strategic direction. Atim Hogan, co-founder of HoganHost, will serve as Vice Chairman of ZuumHost, providing strategic oversight to ensure continuity and growth.
ZuumHost, founded by Oghenekparobor Emmanuel, has long been recognized for its reliable web hosting, domain registration, and digital solutions for businesses and startups. The company is also an accredited registrar under the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), enabling secure registration of .ng domains for local clients.
Industry analysts note that HoganHost’s recent moves go beyond Nigeria. The company has also secured accreditation to register .ug domain extensions in Uganda, extending its services into East Africa. This development is part of a deliberate Pan-African strategy to provide businesses across the continent with local, reliable, and scalable hosting and domain services.
Commenting on the expansion, Joseph Effiok Hogan said, “Our goal has always been to build digital infrastructure that meets African businesses where they are. The integration of ZuumHost and the Uganda domain accreditation are critical steps in accelerating our Pan-African ambitions. This is about delivering reliable services while empowering businesses across the continent to scale digitally.”
Founded by Joseph Effiok Hogan and Atim Hogan, HoganHost has grown steadily from a local hosting startup into a platform serving clients across Nigeria and, increasingly, other African markets. The company’s growth has been driven by a focus on affordable, reliable hosting solutions, cloud services, and partnerships with global infrastructure providers, giving African businesses access to scalable digital tools.
With the ZuumHost acquisition strengthening its Nigerian operations following the recent Uganda accreditation extending its reach regionally, HoganHost is poised to become a significant Pan-African player in web hosting, cloud services, and domain registration. Analysts say these moves signal a new era of locally built, continent-wide digital infrastructure, capable of supporting Africa’s rapidly expanding online economy.
