A non-governmental organisation, Sickle Cell Hope Alive Foundation (SCHAF) says about 150,000 (SS) Sickle Cell child are born annually in Nigeria.
The NGO also said it was unfortunate that about 100,000 SS patients who are mostly children under 5 years die annually.
