Gathering people together and sharing once-in-a-lifetime experience has long been engrained in Moet & Chandon’s style. Few nights ago at the LE & event in Epernay, the champagne house raised the curtain on its original culinary concept LE & with the Maison’s legendary sense of style and panache.
Moët & Chandon’s celebrated hospitality was on display in the heart of Champagne(a region in France) as it celebrated Roger Federer, its global brand ambassador and Yannick Alleno, a French chef and its three-time Michelin-starred.
Welcoming guests from around the globe for this spring/summer only, LE & lies in linking people, sensations and emotions together for an innovative and original experience that is so much greater than the sum of its parts. Guests were brought together to share in the dynamic encounter of vintage champagne & visionary gastronomy; the culinary talent of Chef Yannick Alléno & the craftsmanship of Moët & Chandon Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez; and the spontaneity of a champagne bubble & the generations of savoir-faire to create it.
“Once again, Moët & Chandon is sharing its champagne with the world in a way that is big and bold!” said Roger Federer. “It’s a privilege and also a great pleasure to be here to witness this amazing encounter of two pioneers: Moët & Chandon and Yannick Alléno.”
LE & will be open for the public to live this sensational Moët & Chandon champagne and three-star chef experience between June 9 – July 9 2014. Guests will experience extraordinary culinary concept with few of the many LE & discoveries including the 7 Salt Bar, Blind Shot Room, Cookoning Cellar, Blind Shot Room and Delice Club, all paired with Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 1985, Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 1999 and newly unveiled Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2006.
The Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2006, the newest and 71st addition to the Maison’s prestigious Grand Vintage Collection, was unveiled at the LE & event. Floral, expansive and succulent, Grand Vintage 2006 is the perfect embodiment of the Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage spirit, founded on three essential values: freedom of interpretation, selection of the year’s most remarkable wines and respect for the individuality of each vintage.
Grand Vintage 2006’s initial notes of just-ripened fruits – peach, mango and banana – are rounded out with mature notes of white pepper, flint and marzipan. As the wine breathes, the bouquet is refreshed with floral and delicately botanical notes of honeysuckle, bergamot and anise. A preliminary crispness – notes of nectarine and currant – gives way to a succulent, creamy richness, with the impression of expansive flavour asserting itself and lingering on a bittersweet, deliciously appetising note of pomelo.
