The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Chukwuma Soludo for suggesting a collaborative relationship between the APC and the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The APC argued that there is no evidence of a progressive partnership between the two parties across any political dimension. Senator Emmanuel Anosike, APC State Chairman, made this clarification at the party’s headquarters in Awka on Saturday, following the inauguration of the newly elected state executive committee.

Rejecting slogans in favour of political autonomy

Anosike urged party members across the 21 local government areas to remain vigilant and not be misled by what he described as the governor’s “praise-singing slogan”. He maintained that the APC and APGA are not working together, contrary to claims championed by the APGA leadership and Soludo.

”There is no evidence that the two parties are working together as progressives anywhere in the state or the South East region,” Anosike stated. He suggested that if a genuine partnership existed, the governor would appoint APC members to his cabinet or allow them to serve as local government chairmen, mirroring the inclusive approach taken by President Bola Tinubu at the national level.

Mobilising for the 2027 general elections

The state chairman cautioned the governor against using rhetoric to confuse APC members, who he says are currently working to ensure victory for President Tinubu and all Anambra APC candidates in the 2027 general elections. He vowed that the newly inaugurated executive would ensure the party’s message remains clear to the people of Anambra.

Anosike expressed confidence in the party’s growing membership and the support of regional leaders, including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwiforu. He pointed to ongoing federal road construction projects in the region as a sign of the APC’s commitment to development, which he believes will secure a total victory in 2027.

Strengthening party structure and unity

The inauguration marks a strategic step in reinforcing the APC’s organisational framework ahead of future electoral cycles. Anosike reminded the new executives that their roles are critical to the party’s consolidation and growth within the state.

He concluded by stressing the need for unity, urging leaders and stakeholders to avoid divisive actions. “The responsibility before us is enormous,” Anosike said, calling on the executive members to demonstrate diligence and remain committed to the party’s core ideals.
