Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has announced a temporary adjustment to its international operations, scaling back its highly sought-after Abuja–London service.
Starting immediately, the airline will operate three weekly flights on the route, down from its full frequency, as it navigates the global and domestic scarcity of Jet A1 (aviation fuel).
The adjustment is slated to remain in effect until July 1, 2026, a date the airline has targeted for the resumption of full operational frequency.
In a statement released by management, the airline emphasised that the decision was a proactive measure to ensure “the highest standards of safety and operational reliability.”
The aviation industry has been grappling with fluctuating fuel supplies, a crisis that has put immense pressure on flight schedules across the continent and beyond.
“This measure is necessary to maintain our service integrity during this period,” the statement read. “We are actively monitoring the situation and working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that as supply conditions improve, we promptly restore our full schedule.”
Recognizing the potential disruption to summer travel plans, Air Peace has moved to support its “esteemed passengers” by offering a seamless transition.
The airline stated that passengers whose bookings are affected by the new three-flight-per-week limit are eligible for rescheduling, adding that these changes would be facilitated at no additional cost to the traveller.
The airline advised affected customers to contact the carrier’s call center or email the support team directly.
