The organisers of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity have officially announced the appointment of Juliet Ehimuan, Founder and CEO of Beyond Limits Global, to the 2026 Awarding Jury.

For the Nigerian creative and tech ecosystem, Ehimuan’s appointment signals a continued momentum in gaining international recognition for the region’s innovation-driven industries.

As a juror, Ehimuan will join a global panel of experts in Cannes, France, from June 22–26, 2026, to set the benchmark for transformative ideas.

The Innovation Lions is one of the festival’s most prestigious and forward-looking categories.

Ehimuan will serve in the Innovation category, tasked with evaluating work that redefines the intersection of technology and creative problem-solving.

The appointment marks a significant recognition of Ehimuan’s thirty-year career as a leading architect of Africa’s digital landscape.

Writing on her LinkedIn page following the announcement, Ehimuan emphasised that this role is a natural extension of her lifelong mission.

“Innovation is a fundamental driver of progress and a core pillar upon which I have built my career over the last 3 decades,” Ehimuan shared. “Cannes Lions represents the pinnacle of global creative excellence. And as the industry evolves, the diversity of voices at the table becomes our greatest asset in defining what’s next.”

“I look forward to convening with fellow global experts in France this June to identify and celebrate the work that will set the benchmark for years to come,” she added.

Ehimuan’s selection underscores the rising influence of African tech leadership on the world stage. Before founding Beyond Limits Global, she led Google West Africa for 12 years, where she was instrumental in driving digital transformation and expanding access across the region. Her presence at Cannes Lions ensures that African perspectives are represented in the conversations defining the future of global creativity.

Simon Cook, CEO of LIONS, remarked on the jury’s significance: “The impact of the Cannes Lions Jury can’t be underestimated. Their expertise in recognising groundbreaking work provides a view of the future shape of creativity.”
