Combined efforts by security operatives have successfully rescued the remaining 13 passengers abducted on Wednesday night, April 15, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command CP Ifeanyi Emenari, who confirmed the development to our correspondent Sunday morning in a text message.
The CP said that the rescued kidnap victims will be brought to Makurdi anytime morning.

”Yes any moment from now we will be bringing them down to Makurdi and from there we will hold a news conference when they arrive Makurdi. Emenari replied in a text message to our correspondent.
It would be recallled that Armed men on Wednesday night intercepted the state owned transport company vehicle, Benue Links Nigeria Ltd, and abducted over 14 passengers among them young men and women who were to sit for the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Otukpo.
The CP had on Friday told our correspondent that five of the victims had been rescued leaving 13 in kidnappers den and so far, Seven persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.
