Food delivery platforms have made it easier to compare everyday meals across different kitchens without leaving home, especially for something as familiar as jollof rice.

Jollof rice is a constant, whether it is served at parties, shared at home or ordered from a restaurant. It is one of those meals people return to often, so when it comes from a restaurant, expectations are usually straightforward.

This week, I found myself scrolling through Glovo, looking for restaurants on the mainland that offer solid jollof rice. From portion size to price and overall availability, these are the two spots that stood out.

Yummy Treats Naija

Located in Ikosi Ketu, their jollof rice combo with peppered chicken or turkey goes for N4,500. You can choose either chicken or turkey, although the turkey attracts an extra N500. The meal also comes with plantain, but it is only about two slices, so if you are big on plantain you may need to order extra on the side. That said, for the price, the portion size is quite filling and the chicken serving is decent. Each delivery also comes with a small pack of biscuits. Aside from jollof rice, they also have a wide variety of breakfast meals to choose from. They cater to both indoor and outdoor events, including food trays, food boxes, bulk orders and soup bowls. They are open every day of the week except Sundays, and they operate a no refund policy.

Bimpzy Pots and Wraps

Their jollof rice, plantain and beef combo goes for N3,500. The combo includes two scoops of jollof rice, one scoop of plantain and two pieces of beef. You can also customise your order if you prefer not to go with the set combo, with a single portion of jollof rice selling for N900.

They are currently running a promo that gives 25% off any item on their menu. Located in Ogudu, they are open every day except Sundays. Other items on the menu include soup, swallow and shawarma.
