In a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Qoray has opened a new charging station at Federal Palace Hotel & Casino in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Qoray is a clean technology company focused on delivering distributed clean energy and electric mobility solutions to the last mile. It believes that as electric mobility gains momentum across Nigeria, initiatives like this signal a decisive shift towards cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable urban transportation.
With this latest deployment, the company continues to expand its charging network across Lagos, setting a precedent for property owners, corporate institutions, and government stakeholders to collaborate in accelerating the development of a nationwide EV charging ecosystem.
The newly commissioned station, strategically located within the hotel premises, is now fully operational and open to the public. Positioned in one of Lagos’ most vibrant hospitality and commercial districts, the facility provides a secure and convenient charging solution for EV owners navigating the high-traffic Victoria Island and Ikoyi corridors.
The facility features three 60kWh dual-gun DC fast chargers capable of serving up to six vehicles simultaneously, delivering a 20–80 percent charge in as little as 30–45 minutes, depending on vehicle type.
Designed to support both current EV users and prospective adopters, the Federal Palace Hotel facility is also expected to serve fleet operators and corporate mobility services, positioning the site as a strategic charging hub for vehicles operating within the Victoria Island and Ikoyi business districts.
By situating the infrastructure within a premium hospitality environment, Qoray reinforces the practicality of electric mobility, allowing guests and visitors to charge while lodging, dining, or attending business engagements.
Olabanjo Alimi, Qoray Founder/CEO, emphasised the broader vision behind the expansion, saying, “we are proud to bring Qoray’s clean energy solutions to a landmark location like the Federal Palace Hotel & Casino.
Our goal is to remove barriers to EV adoption by building reliable, accessible infrastructure in the places where people work, stay, and connect. This station represents more than convenience, it reflects our commitment to enabling individuals and businesses to embrace cleaner, smarter mobility.”
Alimi noted that the deployment aligns with growing calls for sustainable urban transportation solutions in Lagos and reflects Qoray’s broader mission to accelerate clean mobility adoption through dependable, strategically deployed energy and charging infrastructure.
Anita Ibru, executive director of Federal Palace Hotel & Casino, reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
“Our partnership with Qoray aligns with Federal Palace Hotel & Casino’s commitment to environmental responsibility and enhanced guest experiences. By introducing EV charging infrastructure onto our premises, we are prioritising convenience for our guests while contributing meaningfully to Lagos’ clean mobility transition. We encourage both our guests and the wider Lagos community to take advantage of this new amenity,” she said.
