The leading People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for Lagos State in 2027, Laja Adeoye, has held a strategic meeting with the Forum of Lagos PDP local government chairmen representing all 20 councils in the state.

The forum was led by the Chairman of Chairmen, Wasiu Aderounmu Adeyemi (Jagun) chairman of Shomolu LGA area of the state.

The chairmen expressed profound gratitude to God for raising a young, vibrant, and highly competent aspirant like Adeoye at a critical time when Lagosians are yearning for genuine change and better leadership.

The Forum passed a vote of confidence in Seyi Makinde, the PDP leader in the South-West, Nigeria and Oyo State governor, commending his impressive developmental strides in Oyo State.

They expressed strong belief that similar people-focused development, marked by transparency, accountability, and equitable growth, would be replicated across every local government and division in Lagos under a committed leader who serves the people wholeheartedly.

The Chairmen also lauded the unwavering commitment and leadership of the revered Atona Oodua, Olabode Ibiyinka George, for his tireless efforts in strengthening the PDP in Lagos State.

The Forum reaffirmed its resolve to work tirelessly across every nook and cranny of Lagos to ensure the PDP emerges victorious in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

They assured party members that the PDP remains strong, united, and vibrant, and will field credible candidates capable of delivering landslide victories.

According to the chairman of chairmen, Wasiu Adeyemi, the Forum is fully committed to the emergence of Adeoye as the PDP gubernatorial candidate. He pledged to rally massive support from all local governments and to help restore the confidence of Lagosians in the party.

Wasiu further commended the current PDP State Executive Committee, led by Amos Fawole, for providing stabilising and purposeful leadership.

He promised continued support for the State Exco and closer collaboration with all party organs to secure a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections.

In his response, Adeoye assured the forum of his unwavering support and commitment to working hand in hand with the PDP structure to deliver good governance to the people of Lagos State and make the party proud.

He outlined his vision for a transformed Lagos, anchored on a clear agenda that prioritises: Quality education with significant investments in infrastructure, vocational training, and digital learning to equip the youth for the future.

Accessible and quality healthcare to ensure every Lagosian receives affordable and efficient medical services.

Equally, he spoke on Improved security through enhanced policing, community engagement, and technology driven solutions to make Lagos safer for residents and businesses.

Adeoye also pledged to deliver a massive affordable housing revolution via public-private partnerships (PPP), innovative financing, and sustainable urban planning. This will address the housing deficit, reduce slums, tackle recurring flooding, and protect homes and businesses.

On the economy, he promised to drive diversification and job creation by boosting entrepreneurship, developing tech hubs, supporting SMEs, promoting tourism, expanding the ocean economy and agriculture, and establishing industrial clusters.

These initiatives aim to generate millions of sustainable jobs, reduce over-reliance on federal allocations, and improve the living standards of youth, women, and all residents.

According to him, Additional commitments include modernising transportation systems (with expanded rail networks, improved BRT, and smart traffic management), promoting environmental sustainability and waste management, granting full autonomy to local governments, and implementing civil service reforms for greater efficiency and better welfare.
