Abuja is set to host the Alté Culture Festival for the first time as the much-anticipated fifth edition lands at Doxa Park on April 4, 2026.
After four successful editions in Lagos, the festival, dedicated to celebrating Nigeria’s non-conformist Alté subculture through music, fashion, art, and unfiltered expression, is migrating to the capital with a promise of uncovering the hidden jewel of the sub-genre, holding the Nigerian capital city.
Organised by Q21 Solutions, the Alté Culture Festival was founded by Eunice Showunmi-Adeyemi (also known as Mrs. A), the company’s CEO and creative visionary with over 25 years in experiential marketing and event production.
The festival has grown into a platform that spotlights emerging talents and alternative artistry in Nigeria’s creative scene. Previous editions, held in Lagos venues such as Muri Okunola Park, have drawn attention for amplifying the Alté movement — a subculture defined by its rejection of mainstream norms in music, style, and lifestyle.
In its 2024 coverage of Alte Culture Festival 3.0, the publication noted the event’s focus on celebrating creativity, diversity, and innovation within the Alté culture movement, while the 2025 report on the fourth edition emphasised its commitment to spotlighting emerging talents amid ongoing criticisms of the genre.
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone: the first time the festival is leaving Lagos for Abuja. “The culture touches down in Abuja this Easter with pure energy, music, and vibes,” the official @alteculturefest
The Instagram page announced, positioning the event as a fresh chapter for the movement in a new city.
The lineup features a mix of established and rising Alté voices ready to deliver live performances. Confirmed performers include ARB band, Odenose, Makama, PsychoYP, TY Again, Fiki, Dangerous Naki, Dotty The Deity, Oiza x Meyi, Vice Versa (performing live for the first time), Ononimusic (also making a live appearance), Dr Kells, and Ononi, with “many more” still to be revealed. Attendees can expect a full day of music, fashion showcases, food vendors, and premium cocktails/mocktails.
For bands like ARB and its leader, Dr T, the event will be like a homecoming, as they originated in the capital city before taking their music journey to find a new audience in Lagos. This has led them to perform at different music festivals and participate in musical competitions, most recently the Make Music Battle of the Bands, which saw them win the second-place spot.
Adding to the excitement, festival founder Eunice Showunmi-Adeyemi was recently honoured with the Outstanding Leadership and Innovation in Experiential Marketing award at the Global She Achievers Conference and Awards in Kigali, Rwanda. In her Instagram post accepting the accolade, she credited the dedication of her team at Q21 Solutions, whose work continues to elevate meaningful cultural experiences like Alté Culture Fest.
Tickets for Alté Culture Fest 5.0 are available via the link in the festival’s bio app.eventeps.com/AlteCultureFest50, with Trio and Tribe packages offering free drinks. Early bird options are moving fast, organisers say. The event is sponsored by Tiger Lager and Jonnie Walker.
As Nigeria’s Alté scene continues to gain global recognition, this Abuja edition promises to be more than just a party; it’s a cultural migration that underscores the growing influence of alternative creativity beyond Lagos. For non-conformists, creatives, and culture enthusiasts alike, April 4 at Doxa Park is where the frequency will be set.
