The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sacked Black Stars head coach Otto Addo just two months before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following the team’s defeat to Germany in an international friendly.
Ghana lost 2–1 in Stuttgart on Monday, with the hosts sealing victory through a late goal by striker Deniz Undav.
The result marked Ghana’s fourth consecutive defeat under Addo, coming on the back of a heavy 5–1 loss to Austria the previous week, raising concerns over the team’s form ahead of the global tournament.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best in his future endeavours,” the GFA said in a statement.
