The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rolled out the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock results amid a growing dispute between the board and 20 examination centres, highlighting persistent challenges in Nigeria’s computer-based testing system.

The situation underscores the need for tighter oversight as digital exams scale nationwide.

Fabian Benjamin, the spokesman at JAMB, announced this Tuesday, in a statement when he said, “Candidates can check their results by sending MOCKRESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration for the 2026 UTME.”

A total of 224,597 candidates registered for the mock examination, with 152,586 successfully sitting for the test across 989 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide

In the aftermath of the exercise, more than 20 CBT centres plagued by technical issues have been delisted over inadequacies.

Meanwhile, JAMB issued a stern warning to candidates to steer clear of fraudsters, especially those operating on WhatsApp, who falsely claim they can manipulate or inflate scores.

The board emphasised that such criminal acts will attract severe sanctions, including cancellation of registration or withdrawal of results if discovered after the examination.

Besides, the board reminded candidates that the main UTME is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
