The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for individual annual income tax returns by two weeks to 14th April, giving taxpayers additional time beyond the statutory 31st March cutoff to complete accurate filings.
Executive Chairman Ayodele Subair, quoted in a statement signed by head of corporate communications Monsurat Amasa-Oyelude on Monday, said the extension was designed to reduce errors in submissions rather than encourage delay. He urged taxpayers to treat compliance as a routine personal obligation rather than a last-minute exercise.
