Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the party has cleared its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, National Secretary, Ajibola Bashiru, and 28 other aspirants following a screening exercise conducted in Abuja.
The screening was carried out by the party’s National Convention Aspirants’ Screening Committee, chaired by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who confirmed that 30 aspirants were assessed for various positions within the National Working Committee (NWC).
Among those cleared are Abubakar Dalori (Deputy National Chairman, North), Emma Eneukwu (Deputy National Chairman, South), Abdulkarim Kana (Deputy National Secretary), Mu’azu Rijau (National Vice Chairman, North Central), Mustapha Salihu (Deputy Vice Chairman, North-East), Mohammed Datti (North-West), Ijeomah Arodiogbu (South-East), Victor Giadom (South-South), and D. I. Kekemeke (South-West).

Others include Muritala Kankia (National Legal Adviser), Uguru Ofoke (Treasurer), Chidi Nze Duru (Deputy National Organising Secretary), and Anyanwu Nduka (Welfare Officer).
Speaking after his screening, Yilwatda described the APC as Nigeria’s most nationally spread political party with a functional internal democratic structure, stressing that due process now guides party operations.
He noted that all members are subject to the same rules, adding that the party has become more transparent and institution-driven.
Also speaking, Bashiru said the screening exercise was successful, noting that the committee acknowledged reforms introduced at the party’s national secretariat.
