She Inclusion, an initiative of FSL Capital, the holding company of FSL Management Services, designed to expand women’s access to financial services and healthcare, has been launched to help bridge the gap that continues to exclude many women from wealth creation opportunities.

The initiative, introduced in celebration of International Women’s Day, held on March 13th at Ikota Shopping Complex in Lagos, brought together women to learn about financial management, investment opportunities, and access to healthcare services.

Kome Felix-Ebhodaghe, chief executive officer of FSL Management Services Limited, said the initiative was created to address gaps in women’s participation in finance and investment.

“Women are excluded from many opportunities. Many women invest, but many more do not understand how to invest, how to build wealth, or how the stock market works,” she said.

Felix-Ebhodaghe said the programme will focus on guiding women through investment processes and helping them build long-term financial capacity.

“We want to sit with them, hold their hands, and walk them through investing their money and growing it,” she said.

The initiative also places emphasis on healthcare access. According to her, many women face challenges paying out-of-pocket medical costs and often lack information about preventive care.

“Women need to know their health status and take preventive measures. Health insurance helps reduce the cost of treatment,” she said.

As part of the programme, FSL partnered with Bastion HMO to provide cervical cancer screening for participants. The first 50 women who registered at the event received vouchers for free screening.

Deborah Adeniyi, a member of Bastion HMO’s partnerships team, said health insurance allows individuals to access treatment at a lower cost.

“With health insurance, you can access consultations, tests, and treatment without paying the full cost out of pocket,” she said, noting that many Nigerians remain skeptical about insurance because of limited awareness.

Adeniyi added that the fact that people can think of FSL and, at the same time, think of Bastion, that’s the goal. We aim to partner and have a profitable partnership that will be beneficial to people.

During the event, Amaka Maduka from FSL’s asset management business development and sales team introduced participants to money market funds as an entry point to investment.

She said the investment product allows individuals to pool funds managed by professional asset managers, with a minimum entry of N10,000.

Maduka explained that returns are reinvested through compound interest, and investors can monitor performance and also withdraw funds after a 30-day lock-in period.

Looking ahead, the company described the current edition as “She Inclusion 1.0”, noting that the initiative will run throughout the year with multiple engagements planned.

While the current programme focuses on women in line with International Women’s Day, the future engagements may expand participation to include men and other stakeholders.
