Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on Tuesday took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office for a second term in a ceremony held at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.
The event, which attracted a distinguished audience from within and outside the country, also witnessed the swearing-in of the Deputy Governor, Onyekachi Ibezim.
Among the dignitaries present were Vice President Kashim Shettima; former President Goodluck Jonathan; and former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku.
Also in attendance was former President Olusegun Obasanjo, alongside other prominent figures.

The governor arrived at the venue at about 11:18 a.m. in the company of top Government officials and political associates.
Soludo took the oath of allegiance at approximately 11:50 a.m., followed by the oath of office, which lasted a few minutes.
He thereafter signed the oath register at about 11:55 a.m. before the Chief Judge of the State.
His wife, Nonye Soludo, stood beside him throughout the brief but symbolic ceremony.
Also present at the event were Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as well as other traditional rulers and stakeholders.
The ceremony formally marks the commencement of the governor’s second tenure, which will run for another four years.
