Abel Amadi,  general superintendent of Assemblies  of God Church, Nigeria, has urged Nigerians to focus more on marketing the country and the things that will build the country and not to engage in “pull-him-down-syndrome” against their neighbours who have achieved success in life by dint of hard work.

The cleric also advised Nigerians to also redouble their commitment to nation building and assured that Nigeria would soon emerge stronger from its mountain challenges.

The General Superintendent remarked that vices like campaign of calumny and character assassination against innocent individuals arising from envy and jealousy tend to demoralise wealthy Nigerians from using their God-given resources to help humanity.

He spoke at a special thanksgiving service in honour of Success Obioma Akagburuonye as part of the activities to mark his 60th birthday held at the Noah’s Ark, Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru, in the Aboh Mbaise Council Area of Imo State.

The General Superintendent noted that at 60, God has continued to bless Akagburuonye with good health, resources and wisdom and which he has continued to use to touch the lives of the poor and the needy.

He further urged Nigerians to remain prayerful and submit themselves to Christ in their actions and deeds, expressing the optimism that nation’s current economic challenges would soon fizzle out and pave way for stronger economic growth and prosperity.

Former President Obasanjo commended Akagburuonye for his resilience, his belief in God’s grace and his relentless drive to uplift others and make any where he found himself better than he met it.

Also speaking, ex-president Goodluck Jonathan congratulated Akagburuonye on his diamond birthday celebration and extolled him for his resilience and abiding faith in the continued corporate existence of the nation.

“He rose through determination, self-discipline and faith in God and his journey to success should be a lesson to all of us. He believes in the fear of God and human dignity and has contributed alot to infrastructural development, housing expansion and over 1,000 people have benefitted from his philanthropic scholarship, Housing and clean water”.

He further hailed Akagburuonye for his unflinching contribution to nation building, noting that his legacy remains one of courage and transformational leadership. And congratulated the mother of the celebrant on her attainment of 105 years and for the gift of Akagburuonye as a son.

Chinyere Ekomaru, the state deputy governor who represented Governor Uzodinma on the occasion, similarly extolled Akagburuonye as a trail blazer, a rare patriot, a visionary leader and a legal expert per excellence, very humble and God fearing and a decent lover of humanity.

“His passion for what he believes is good for humanity is enormous and strong and I will do all I can to add steam and dignity to this. Since you were able to attract two former presidents to witness this epoch-making ceremony, by the special grace of God, we will be here again to celebrate your 105 years of birth,” she said.
