Once again, +234 Art Fair, an anticipated event in Nigeria’s visual art calender, is set to hold this year’s edition in March, with a promise of an expanded outing.

Of course, every edition of annual fair, which debuted in March 2024, is shaped by a question of structure. How should art be encountered? Who is being invited in — and how?

This year’s programme, according to Soto Gallery, the organisers, is a deliberate expansion of the experience as a Lagos Street Art collaboration brings practices shaped in public space into the fair.

Also, the Lagos Gallery Weekend extends the rhythm beyond the venue and into the city, while a partnership with the Spanish Embassy introduces another layer of cultural dialogue.

Across the fair, masterclasses and artist-led sessions will create space for deeper engagement, while performances punctuate the weekend with moments of movement and energy.

At the centre of it all remains the encounter with art itself. Inclusivity, for this edition, is expressed through design — through the range of practices presented, the diversity of voices, and the different ways audiences can move through the experience.

The fair does not ask to be experienced in a single way. It may unfold as discovery; as a reflection, a conversation or simply as time spent looking.

The organisers look forward to welcoming collectors, the art-curious, families, friends, and solitary wanderers alike to this year’s edition, which holds from March 5 – 8, 2026 at the EcoBank Pan African Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The free-entry art fair opens daily at 10am and closes at 8am.

+234 Art Fair is targeted at emerging artists and it is being organised by Soto Gallery Lagos.

The fair offers an immersive showcase of painting, photography, and sculpture providing the public with an up-close look at the latest creative endeavours of emerging Nigeria artists.

It also showcases Nigerian art, emphasising inclusivity by featuring unseen creators, artists exploring new mediums, and diverse community perspectives. It aims to broaden the understanding of Nigerian art by highlighting overlooked voices.
