…seeks their support for President Tinubu

The people of the South-East Zone of Nigeria have been advised to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration to complete all ongoing projects he started in the zone.

Dave Umahi, Nigeria’s Minister of Works, made the appeal recently during the inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation of Aba-PortHarcourt section of the Enugu-PortHarcourt expressway.

He praised President Tinubu for what he is doing in the South-East, noting that the people of the zone are no more marginalised.

According to Umahi, “there is no more marginalisation in the South-East. To have given the South-East the Minister of Works. We have never been Minister of Works. You can see the intention of Mr President, you can see the good heart of Mr President and so it’s time for payback.

“You all know the amount of work from PortHarcourt to Enugu, there is no section of the job that is not going on.
Never in the history of Nigeria, have we benefited as such.”

He continued, “I was Deputy Governor and later Governor for 8 years, there was no single federal road project in my State, but today we can boast of a number of ongoing projects.

“We can boast of trillions of Naira worth of projects, like in other zones.
The first legacy project of President Tinubu was in the South-East. We have key appointments and we have a lot that is going on in the South-East under President Tinubu. So it is time to support him.”

He urged the people of South-East not to engage in sentiments. “We should tell Peter Obi, our brother that it is not yet our turn, when it is our turn Nigerians will know, Ndi Igbo will know.

“Our votes will remain with President Tinubu, God has given him the grace to complete all the jobs that he is doing. I don’t want anyone that will come and stop all these projects.

“Somebody has boasted that if they come on board, that they will stop the coastal road projects. Is that what Nigerians want? Go and see the beauty of those roads, go and see the economic revolution on the corridors of those projects, whether it is Sokoto-Badagry, the Transahara or the Lagos-Calabar, or the Akwanga-Bauchi-Gombe road. They are investment projects. So, we have to pray for the President, and all those working with him.”

Umahi praised Arab Contractors, the construction company handling the Umuahia-Aba section of the expressway for doing a good job.

He also thanked the company for been a good partner to the Federal Government and promised that no ongoing project in the South-East and other parts of the country will be stopped, due to lack of funds.
